Switchbord is built with a native multi-tenant architecture, allowing you to manage multiple organizations or departments under a single account with total data isolation.

Workspace Isolation

Every workspace is a completely separate environment. This ensures that:
  • Data Privacy: Contacts, messages, and API keys are never shared between workspaces.
  • Reporting: Analytics and billing are scoped at the workspace level.
  • Configurations: Settings like Webhook URLs and Meta Credentials are set per workspace.

Member Management

Administrators can manage team access through the Workspace Settings.

Inviting Members

You can invite new team members via email. When invited, a user receives a secure link to join the specific workspace.

Workspace-Scoped Roles

Permissions are granted on a per-workspace basis. A user might be an “Admin” in one workspace and an “Agent” in another.
  • Admin: Full access to settings, billing, and member management.
  • Manager: Access to analytics and campaigns, but limited settings access.
  • Agent: Primary access to the Inbox and Contact management.

Switching Workspaces

Users who belong to multiple workspaces can switch between them seamlessly using the workspace switcher in the main navigation sidebar. Switching workspaces instantly reloads the interface with the data and permissions of the selected environment.

Domain Controls

For Enterprise customers, Switchbord supports domain-based auto-join rules, allowing users with specific email domains (e.g., @company.com) to automatically discover and request access to their corporate workspaces.
